Black Diamond Delivers AppScan Hacking 101 Seminars
April 25, 2008
Record attendance set at 7 East Coast events
At the request of IBM Rational Sales, Black Diamond agreed to host a series of 4 Hacking 101 Seminars a half day event devoted to the awareness of application security issues and how they are addressed by Rational’s AppScan product. The marketing of these events a combined effort by IBM and Black Diamond, was so effective that 3 additional seminars were added to accommodate the demand. The seminars were delivered in McLean, VA; Raleigh, NC; New York, NY; and West Chester, PA to 125 attendees a full 70% of those registered.
“The Hacking 101 Seminar provides an excellent introduction to the topic of application security,” said Rich Duncan, Black Diamond’s President/CTO and lead presenter at 6 of the seven seminars. “Two of the three hours are devoted to lecture and labs that help attendees gain a better understanding of application security vulnerabilities and they differ from other types of threats. The last part of the seminar focuses on how Rational AppScan provides a proven means to not only detect vulnerabilities in an organization’s web applications, but provides the organization with the information necessary to repair them.”
Black Diamond is currently working with several of the attendees to help their organization’s better understand Rational AppScan’s features and benefits. If you are interested in finding out more about AppScan, please contact Black Diamond sales at 203-431-9600 or sales@bds.com.
